SARC-CCT Virtual Get-together 2
Centre for Combating Tobacco (CCT) organised an informal virtual get-together (phase 2) on 8th December 2023 at 1730 SL/ India time (GMT +5.30). This event aimed to catch up with all the South Asian Regional Consortium Centre for Combating Tobacco (SARC-CCT) members and to update each other on matters related to each country in terms of the tobacco industry Interference.
SARC-CCT members comprised of the SARC-CCT Committee, the main decision-making body of this network, SARC- CCT Technical Advisory Panel (SARC-TAP) comprising global and regional experts in tobacco control and the SARC-CCT Fellows. Currently, there are 21 SARC-CCT Fellows representing all eight South Asian countries namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Pakistan partnered with CCT in Sri Lanka being a team of state, academic and civil society organisation representatives, empowered by the SARC-CCT Fellowship Programme.
The virtual get-together was successfully concluded after discussing the importance of updating on tobacco industry interference in each country.
